Art has been the executive director of the Capitol Theatre since 2004 and the 1728 seat theatre began back in 1928.

Capitol Theatre regularly screens archival 35mm prints of classic films with carbon arc projection and silent films with live theatre organ accompaniment with their original installation organ from 1928.  They have full pit orchestra used for SummerStage musical theater productions. In addition, they have a 52-seat Cinema Capitol, known for a wide mix of independent and international film favorites.

Capitol Theatre is home to the Capitolfest, Central New York's premier summer cinephile film festival held in August. It is a place to see rarely-shown and newly-discovered films of the silent and early talkie era, starting on late Friday morning and ending early on Sunday evening.

The philosophy of Capitolfest is that there should be time to savor the films, thus their slogan, “A vacation, not a marathon.”
