Mateus was born in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, and
since 2013 has been working with soundtracks for films from that
area.
Mateus has worked on several
documentary films including: Brasil S/A, Behind The Shield Line, and Prison Flowers, as well as
writing and directing his own short film Bubble.
Mateus' narrative feature film work
includes: Black Amber, Aquarius, and most recently the acclaimed Bacurau.
