After graduating from HFF Potsdam Film School in production design, Erwin’s first feature film as production designer was Absurdistan, which earned him the German Film Award for Best Production Design.
Erwin also worked as an art director on the acclaimed films The Reader and The Last Station.
Erwin worked as production designer on the visually striking 3D short film, Bloodrop, and the feature films, Songs from the Southern Seas, Womb, and A Quiet Life.
Erwin was recently the production designer for the Oscar nominated feature film, In Darkness, a dramatization of one man's rescue of Jewish refugees in the Nazi-occupied Polish city of Lvov, hidden for 14 months in the sewers of the town.
Erwin’s other recent and upcoming production design credits include Lost in Siberia, Playoff, Syngue Sabour, and Lost Rooms.
