Haskell Wexler - Oscar Winning Cinematographer and Documentarian, 1922-2015

Haskell received Oscar nominations for his work on the documentary The Living City; the short film T Is For Tumbleweed and One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and won Oscars for his work on Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf and Bound For Glory

Haskell has worked on several films with John Sayles including Matewan, The Secret of Roan Inish, Limbo, and Silver City.

Haskell has dierected and filmed a number of important documentary films to his credit, including The Bus, Interviews With Mee Lie Veterans, and Introduction to the Enemy, co-directed with Jane Fonda.

Haskell created the groundbreaking neo-documentary style film, Medium Cool about a TV news camera find himself becoming personally involved in the violence which erupts around the 1968 Democratic National Convention

Haskell more recently directed the documentary Who Needs Sleep? about sleep deprivation in the film industry and shot Bringing King to China about a young American teacher in Beijing, whose failed protests against the Iraq war drive her to produce a play in China about Martin Luther King, Jr.  

Haskell continued to document more recent political and peace movements like the Occupy Movement in Chicago on Four Days in Chicago

John Axelrad - Film Editor - We Own The Night, Two Lovers, Crazy Heart, The Immigrant, Rudderless, Krampus, and the upcoming, Miles Ahead

John attended the USC School of Cinema-Television Production.

Early on in his career, John was an assistant editor on varied projects including earlier films for Steven Soderbergh like Out of Sight and Erin Brocovich.

John's projects over the years, include: We Own The Night, Two Lovers, Crazy Heart, and The Immigrant.

Some of John's more recent projects include: Rudderless, a music related comedy/drama for William H. Macy, Before We Go for Chris Evans, Krampus, a holiday comedy/fantasy horror, and the upcoming, Miles Ahead for Don Cheadle, a narrative feature about the life and music of Miles Davis.

Bo Smith - Film Educator and Curator

Bo currently teaches film classes at the Rhode Island School of Design and has previously taught at Boston College, Teachers as Scholars, Boston University, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

He has directed film programming for Unifilm in San Francisco, Films in the Cities in St. Paul, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Denver Film Society, and currently coordinates film events at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence.

Colin Gibson - Australian Art Director and Production Designer - The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Babe, Welcome to Woop Woop, Babe Pig In The City, Nim's Island, Careless Love, and Mad Max: Fury Road (on DVD and Digital)

Colin's earlier work was in the props department on films including the films: Bliss,Flirting, The Last Days of Chez Nous, and Sirens; he was also a Supervising Art Director on Young Einstein.

Colin has worked as an Art Director on the following: The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Babe and Babe: Pig in the City, Welcome to Woop Woop, and as Production Designer on the film, Serenades and the television series, Love My Way.

Some of Colin's more recent projects include working as Art Director on Nim's Island, and as Production Designer on Careless Love and the critically acclaimed, Mad Max: Fury Road, continuing his work with George Miller now available worldwide on DVD and digitally.

Ethan Tobman - New York City and Los Angeles based Production Designer from Montreal - Twist, Sorry, Haters, Choking Man, Kill Theory, The Naked Brothers Band, Twelve, What If, The D Train, and Room

Ethan attended NYU Tisch School of the Arts and his first short film, Remote, which he wrote, directed and production designed, was selected for the Cannes Film Festival.

Bobby Bukowski - Veteran Cinematographer - Anna, Dogfight, Arlington Road, The Minus Man, The Messenger, Rampart, The Iceman, Very Good Girls, Rosewater, Infinitely Polar Bear, Time Out of Mind, and 99 Homes

Bobby had worked as photographer's assistant in Paris. Soon after, he archived a Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage, led by the Dalai Lama, to all the sacred Buddhist sites along the Ganges River, marking the first time he had a movie camera in his hand.

Bobby's earlier projects over the years include: Anna, Dogfight, Household Saints, Arlington Road, and The Minus Man.


In addition, he has worked with director Oren Moverman over the years on the films: The Messenger, Rampart, and the more recent Time Out of Mind.

Simon Rouby - French Animator - Adama

Some of Simon's earlier animation work includes the short films Blind Spot, a 3d black comedy, and a pair of more experimental films in 2d, Le Presage and La Marche.

Simon's most recent project is the feature film Adama. Adama is the 12-year old hero of the story. When his older brother Samba vanishes from their African village, Adama decides to set off in search of him, eventually crossing Europe in the grip of World War I.

Adama was an official selection to this year's prestigious Annecy animation festival, where it was nominated for best feature and continues to screen worldwide.
