Andre Ovredal - Norwegian Director and Writer - TrollHunter

Andre made a name for himself as one of Norway’s most successful directors of commercials with almost two hundred commercials for clients in Norway and abroad to his credit, as well as directing award winning short films. 

Andre’s latest work is the feature, TrollHunter, a thrilling documentary style film that is both darkly comedic and suspenseful. 

Filmed in the countryside of Norway, TrollHunter tells the story of a veteran hunter and fed-up government employee as he reveals the world of beasts known only to Norwegians in stories from their childhood and the students and the audience eventually believe his unlikely tales.

Peter Zeitlinger - Austrian Cinematographer for Werner Herzog

Austrian Cinematographer, Peter Zeitlinger, worked as Director of Photography on Werner Herzog’s documentary, Death For Five Voices in 1995, continuing this collaboration up to Cave Of Forgotten Dreams and beyond.  

Cave of Forgotten Dreams was shot in 3D inside the Chauvet caves of Southern France, capturing the oldest known pictorial creations of humankind in their natural setting.

Peter shot the documentary film Encounters at the End of the World showcasing the landscapes of Antarctica which was nominated for the Academy Award.

Additionally, Peter is known for his cinematograhy work on several documentary and narrative films including: Little Dieter Needs to Fly, Rescue Dawn, Invincible, The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans, and My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done.

Leanne Pooley - NZ Documentary Filmmaker - The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls

New Zealand based documentary filmmaker, Leanne Pooley, established the independent production company Spacific Films based in New Zealand.  Her earlier documentaries include: Relative Guilt, Kiwi Buddha, and Haunting Douglass about modern dancer and choreographer Douglas Wright.

Leanne has made the award winning documentary films: The Promise, Try Revolution, and Being Billy Apple.

Leanne more recently created the documentary The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls, a film about the lives of lesbian, singing, twin sister comedy duo, the Topp Twins. It has won many international awards including audience awards at Toronto, Melbourne, and Gothenburg, and won Best Feature at the NZ Film & TV Awards and was the most successful NZ documentary of all time.

Leanne is also directing Shackleton's Captain, a documentary about Frank Worsley, captain of Shackleton's Endurance, and is producing the documentary Finding Mercy.

Pasquale Catalano - Italian Film Composer

Pasquale has collaborated as conductor, orchestrator, arranger and composer for films for directors Pappi Corsicato and Dario D’Ambrosi, on the films, One Man Up and The Consequences of Love, by Paolo Sorrentino, and Mario's War by Antonio Capuano

Pasquale later composed the music for Signorina Effe, The Sicilian Girl, and The Double Hour

Pasquale more recently collaborated on the film Loose Cannons earning a nomination for the David of Donatello and Silver Ribbon Film Award

Pasquale scored Barney's Version an Italian-Canadian co-production based on the novel by the same name by Mordecai Richler starring Paul Giamatti and directed by Richard J. Lewis

Karen Aqua - Tribute to An Award Winning Independent Animator

This was a rebroadcast of an interview with Boston-based animator, Karen AquaKaren died May 30, 2011 at the age of 57.

Since 1976, Karen created animated films exploring the themes of ritual, journeys, transformation, and the human spirit. Much of her work reflects an interest in symbols, mythology, and prehistoric and tribal cultures, and includes elements of rhythm, dance, and music.

Karen's award-winning films have been screened nationally and internationally, at film festivals, museums, and universities. Aqua’s animation appears regularly on Sesame Street.

Just before her death, Karen completed her final work Taxonomy which premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston
